The Beazleys purchased their 650 acre
farm near Lismore on the Victorian
Volcanic Plains about the same time
that Landcare began to gain serious
momentum twenty years ago. In the
early stages, tree planting and
diversification with agro forestry were
the key messages, and the Beasley
family keenly participated.

community started to talk about
native grasslands. These hardy grasses
and rare wildflowers have value for
land health as well as biodiversity.
Read the Beazley’s story of retaining native grasslands
for financial reward through Ecosystem Service payments.
